Sailor 1911 Medium Black/Gold inked with Noodler’s Apache Sunset

Looking a the database proposals for the next few pens it’s all black and gold. I do own quite a few black with gold trim pens so they will appear now and again. The first up is a Sailor 1911 Medium in black with gold trim – I own two of this model (I was chasing certain nibs at the time and black and gold Sailor’s would go for the cheapest price on eBay). The nib on this occasion is the Sailor H-MF – I think it is supposed to be between a fine and a medium but this one writes closer to medium.

The ink of course is another of my newest Noodler’s inks – I was saving Apache Sunset for a broader nib but thought I should just use it with this nib to see if it shades well from a fine. It does!! Shades like a wonder going from yellow to mid orange within a letter- very pretty.
